The Architecture & Urban Research Institute (AURI) performs theoretical and practical researches to enhance public interest in architecture and urban space.

Architecture and urban spaces form the very foundation of humanity and have perpetuating effects on our lives. Based on the public value and cultural importance of the built environments, our mission is to guide the nation toward better architecture and urban spaces.

In its initial stage of operation, AURI has been working on major policy legislations and policy programs in the field of architecture and urban design. In 2015, AURI was relocated to Sejong City along with the new government complex of Korea, and now it is embarking on a new era of advancement. AURI started expanding its scope of works from current policy problems toward long term challenges which the nation and the world will face. Also, considering these challenges require public-private partnership, AURI is going to prioritize facilitating participation from private sector and related industries in policy-making processes.

While intensifying our policy support functions, we are taking more efforts for establishing tradition of high-quality research and analysis by encouraging application of big data analysis, and introducing the strongest research techniques to ensure evidence-based, context-sensitive policy recommendations.

We will appreciate your continued interest, affection, and any advices for our journey towards.

Thank you.

President of AURI
