Theoretical and practical research on flourishing architectural and urban spatial culture and branding Korean traditional architecture : Hanok

The Spatial Culture Research Group implements various theoretical and practical researches with the purpose of flourishing the architectural and urban spatial culture in Korea centered on National Hanok Center.
National Hanok Center is deriving the cultural value of architectural assets and seeking ways of sustainable utilization. Moreover, this group conducts educational and promotional projects and policy proposals to publicize the creativity and awareness of Korean architectural culture.

National Hanok Center

National Hanok Cente simbol

The National Hanok Center is a think-tank promoting the preservation and revitalization of Korea’s traditional architecture, the Hanok. The center fosters awareness of the cultural values of the Hanok both internationally and domestically, and carries out research to support government policy. In addition, the center serves as a bridge between public and private sectors, providing information on statistics and government policy on Hanok to residents and private companies.
