Overview

Conducting political research for improving the value of public buildings and developing the architecture-related industries

The Architectural Policy Research Group aims to promote the architecture-related industries and to enhance the value of public buildings based on the outcomes of diverse research. This research group operates the legal centers: National Public Building Center (NPBC), National Urban Regeneration Assistancy Agency, Architectural Services Industry Promotion Center, and Building Agreement Support Center. Furthermore, the diverse projects that this research group implements pertain to the advancement of architecture-related institutions, safety of buildings, and built environment design, etc.

National Public Building Center (NPBC)

The National Public Building Center (NPBC) aims to enhance design and management of public buildings in order to allow for the enjoyment sophisticated architecture culture in daily life. The NPBC supports public buildings that are managed by the central government, local governments and public institutions through the application of an innovative design process. In addition, the NPBC contributes to establishing a sustainable management system.

  • Dissemination of excellent public building casebooks and manuals related to public buildings

National Urban Regeneration Assistancy Agency

The National Urban Regeneration Assistancy Agency was designated by the government to support urban regeneration and pilot urban regeneration projects. The center is committed to contribute to urban regeneration that respects architectural culture, managing pilot projects, establishing community level plans that can revitalize neighborhoods and fostering businesses and architects in the community to encourage small-scale regeneration projects.

  • Supporting and monitoring projects of urban regeneration in pilot areas
  • Managing and monitoring each department’s urban regeneration pilot projects
  • Establish a comprehensive master plan or community- level plan for public architecture and space

Architectural Services Industry Promotion Center

Architectural Services Industry Promotion Act was enacted in order to enhance the foundation for architectural services industry, the public convenience and the national economy. Architectural Services Promotion Center aims to promote policies for improvement of the architectural services to the level of the advanced countries and to help it to attain capacity for the international competition.

  • Conducting researches on policies and procedures to promote architectural services industry

  • Operating the Building Control Monitoring Center in order to promote investment in the architecture industry

Building Agreement Support Center

Building Agreement Support Center

Building Agreement Support Center assists building agreement projects and conducts relevant researches. The center aims to establish governance for building agreement, to search for leading models, to offer educational programmes and to promote public relations, and to carry out researches on the legal system. The center also aims to create livable places through neighborhood participation.
