AURI is driving various academic research activities on architectural and urban design fields and related official projects such as the planning and promotion strategy study for the National Architecture & Urban Archive and the masterplan for Architecture & Urban Museum in Korea.

Norsk Form / Norway

Norsk Form, established in 1998 by Norway's Culture ministry, is a government branch to conduct architectural design, and to perform a role in constructing network, discussion and interdisciplinary resarch in urban planning field. Norsk Form is a research center performing information based project. Also, Norsk Form has played a key role establishing the network for interdisciplinary research in architectural design and urban planning field.

Norsk Form has been worked to arouse public's interests, and enhance general understanding through exhibition, publication, conference, banquet, training program awards ceremony, competition, network, workshop for children and teenagers, media-based campaign and projects. AURI and Norsk Form signed a bilateral MOU in October, 2011.

Beijing Municipal lnstitute of City Planning & Design (BICP) / China

Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) / Indonesia

The Institut Teknologi Bandung, established in 1920, is a national university in Indonesia. The School of Architecture of the university researches various models which are useful to utilize physical environment for establishing sustainable residential environment in social, cultural and ecological context. Also, the School of Architecture has performed researches focusing on architectural design, and environmental issue. Recently, the college prosecutes international cooperation through various universities located in America, Asia and Europe. AURI and ITB signed a bilateral MOU in December, 2011.

Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) / Singapore

Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), founded in 1965, is a national institute for land use planning and urban settlement. The main purpose of the URA is building an affluent city in which living, business and leisure are harmonious. The URA plans substantive development strategies and performs national enterprise through cooperation with regional society. In addition, the URA establishes solid regional planning through long-term strategies for substantive development, and focuses on collaboration and making guidelines to activate the regional planning A discussion about the MOU between AURI and URA is in progress.

MFA(Museum of Finnish Architecture) / Finland

The Museum of Finnish Architecture, established in 1956, is one of Finland's national specialist museums. The fundamental task of MFA is to collect and distribute knowledge about architecture and increase its understanding among the general public as well as experts. It is an information centre for topical architectural practice, research and critique, oriented toward the future even as it records history. The museum builds a bridge between architecture and its users, and on the other hand it is a link in the interaction of professionals. AURi concluded the MOU with MFA in December, 2007.

Berlage Institute / The Netherlands

The Berlage Institute, founded in 1990 as a center of excellence in architecture, is an international postgraduate laboratory for education, research and development in the fields of architecture, urban planning and landscape design. The institute provides a critical environment where spatial planning issues are studied in depth. Social and cultural phenomena relevant to the metropolis of tomorrow are the central focuses. AURi concluded the MOU with Berlage Institute in December, 2007.

La Cite de l'Architecture et de la Patrimoine / France

The Cite opened in September 2007, after it combined three departments which are the Museum of French Monuments, the French Institute of Architecture and School of Chaillot, This innovative structure offers the public the chance to discover in a single place the history of French architecture from the 12th century while also promoting contemporary architecture. Besides the permanent collections based on the archive, the Cite conducts temporary exhibitions, symposiums, conferences, debates and education program, etc. The MOU between Cite de l’Architecture and AURi is in progress.

CDRN (Canadian Design Research Network) / Canada

The Canadian Design Research Network is a new consortium of academics and partners from the private, public and non-governmental sectors working together to improve design outcomes in Canadian society through research in design. Its main aims are to foster its members in conducting world class design research, to engage academia and its receptor communities in strategic issues in design research, to assist knowledge and technology transfer between academia and receptor communities, to develop needed infrastructure for design research, and to improve the quality of design education by transferring research results to the classroom, the studio, the factory and the construction site. The MOU between CDRN and AURi is in progress.

RHA(Rwanda Housing Authorigy)/ Rwanda

The Rwanda Housing Authorigy(RHA) is under the umbrella of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Rwanda, and promotes housing policies and urban development strategies in order to defeat poverty in line with the mid to long-term development plan of the Rwanda government. AURI signed the MOU with the RHA in April 2013.
